Blog #6

Jottings:
I hang back by my spot for a bit, answering an email from a professor.
Professor calls on me to start talking with someone.
I start talking with Elizabeth.
She asks me how old I was and what my major is.
She asks me if I have a job.
I ask her if she works and what she does; she works as a cashier at Khols.
She asks me if I have any brothers and sisters; she had an older brother and older sister.
She is part German, French, Swedish and Native American.
Professor calls for rotation.
I feel like I should have been asking more questions than I did.
Mark comes in and starts asking me questions.
Turns out we are both snowboarders.
I talk with Sabrina next.
We are both taking notes on our iPhones.
She dorms on campus.
We are both English Writing Option majors.
Only talk for a minute or two before professor tells us to go back to our seats.

Headnotes:
People started off by saying 'hi' to each other and introducing themselves.
Lots of questions being asked to multiple people of each group.
Some people laughed a few times.
A lot of people wrote in their notebooks.
Most of the conversations were pretty casual.

Things I Remembered:
Marc is the first to stand up after the professor tells us to get up.
Professor was listening in on some conversations towards the front of the class, sometimes laughing.
We all grouped together in groups of threes, even one group of four.
Heard some people say that they like the same thing another person does as well.

Observations of What Happened:
Although the conversations were casual, there were some who were nervous, myself included(as I always am).  Some classmates were more open about themselves than others, eager to talk about who they are and share their interests with others.  Other classmates(myself included) were unsure of what to talk about, as it's not easy to force a conversation for them.
