Blog #16

As far as I can tell about my interview with my partner, it was pretty awkward on my end of the interview while I was asking questions.  Since I have a hard time making eye contact with people, it was difficult for me to both think of relevant questions and look directly at my partner.  Also, since this was my first time doing an ACTUAL interview, I had a hard time coming up with enough questions to ask.
However, the professor help me to gain a better understanding of how I am to conduct an interview.  She came over and pretty much started doing her own interview with my partner and I, asking questions like where we live and how important Halloween is to me, as well as how my town and townsfolk seem to celebrate Halloween.  The question about where I live threw me off, however, as I never would have considered that to be a question to ask in an interview.  I thought it would be too sensitive of a question to ask.  But even so, after the professor interviewed the both of us, I gained a better sense of what I am to ask in my projects interview.  To be honest, I feel a lot more comfortable interviewing someone who already has a lot of experience being interviewed or doing the interviewing.
As far as how to apply all of this to my project, I believe I have some good questions to ask that may or may not invite the interviewee to speak a bit more freely.  I still think I may need some help figuring out some better questions though, as I feel that most of the questions I already have are too...open-ended and can be answered with just a brief explanation or with a "yes/no".
